About Reno Community Assistance Center

Provides emergency bus tickets home. Must meet at least the following criteria: requirements: a) MUST GO IN IN PERSON, NO EXCEPTIONS b) Must be homeless c) must have good reason why they aren't able to stay and do day labor to buy the ticket themselves (i.e., single parent w/children, disabled, elderly, etc.) Able-bodied persons are directed to emergency housing and given day labor information. If a woman and her children are abandoned here by dad/boyfriend, the HELP office will help them get back home. If person knows someone who could wire them money, but doesn't have the money to make the calls, the HELP office will make all the long distance calls they need for them. The HELP office must be able to contact the person they intend to stay with. Client must go in person to receive services. - Intake: Telephone and walk in reports Mon - Fri 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.Records Tues - Fri 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.Work Applicant Registration Tues - Fri 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
