About The General Assistance Advocacy Project (GAAP)

The General Assistance Advocacy Project (GAAP) is a registered non-profit working in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco for 10 years. GAAP works with members of the homeless community and low-income community in San Francisco, helping clients get the Food Stamps, General Assistance and Social Security benefits to which they are entitled. GAAP also provides referrals, a mail and message service for clients. GAAP is staffed primarily by law students from Hastings College of the Law, with help from students at San Francisco State and Stanford Law School.
