The intent of the Older Americans Act (OAA) is to enable seniors to remain independent, both in their community and in their homes, by meeting the nutritional needs of the participants.
Additionally, OAA offers participants the opportunity to make new friends and create informal support networks through socialization opportunities.
Studies show that older people participating in senior center programs learn to manage and delay the onset of chronic illness and can measure physical, social, mental, emotional, mental, and financial well-being.

HMS provides five centers for the elderly in two counties to help improve the health and well-being of the elderly in Hidalgo and Grant counties.
Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
