The Senior Center is primarily a nutrition site where lunches are served Monday through Friday, both at the Center and to the homebound. The only requirement for joining the Senior Center is that the resident, or spouse, be at least sixty (60) years of age or more. The requirement for receiving homebound meals specifies that the resident be qualified as homebound. The nutrition program is supported in part by Harris County Area Agency on Aging. Each client will discuss their personal situation with a counselor who will assess their needs and determine the type of assistance that will best aid the family. Aid includes, but is not limited to, the following types of assistance: Rent or Mortgage CAM may pay a portion of a clients current month rent or mortgage. The client is required to pay the balance of the amount due, or have a pledge for that amount, prior to CAMs paying the pledged amount. - Utilities CAM may pay a portion of the past due balance on a utility bill.
