The Omar K. Lightfoot Senior Recreation Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 am until 4 pm. Make new friends and join us for a variety of recreational activities. Annual memberships are available, or choose daily fees. For the adventurous, trips are planned three times per month, varying in destination and cost. Trips in the past have included the museum, the theater and other local attractions. A nominal fee may be charged for special events and field trips. The Senior Citizens Nutrition and Activity Program (SCNAP) serves a hot balanced lunch Monday through Friday for those over 60. In addition to great daily activities such as ping-pong, card games and billiards, group activities also are a part of the daily program. Popular activities include senior-cise, chair aerobics, the arts and crafts club, Red Hat Club, and Bunco. Frequently, agency representatives come to explain and answer questions about services and issues that seniors care about. From shuffleboard to making your own ice cream, getting manicures to singing with a group, or even using the shared computers, you will always find something enjoyable at our center...
