The Administration of the Elderly Activities Division (EAD) oversees six programs:
The RSVP,
Senior Coordinated Services,
Senior Training,
Employment Program,
Hawaii County Nutrition Program,
Senior Recreation Services/Special Programs.
The Division provides comprehensive and coordinated services to seniors to promote maximum independence, optimal health, personal dignity, and self-fulfillment.
EAD employees offer a variety of educational and recreational options for older people aged 55 years and over, a variety of opportunities and services to improve their quality of life, such as employment, volunteer opportunities, transportation, escort, information and assistance, home-based services (domestic work, personal care), recreational activities, shared meals and home-cooked meals, as well as island-wide, statewide, national and international events (Kupuna Hula, bowling, softball, health fair, etc.).
