Services: Charlottes Daily Soup Kitchen: Hours: every day (including holidays), 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The Soup Kitchen meets a critical, basic need not only by reliably meeting the growing demand for food but also by offering a welcoming front door for people living on the streets. The kitchen serves as the entry point to the continuum of services available through the Urban Ministry Center and the Homeless Services Network. Were the first place homeless neighbors turn to for food and basic services, which in turn creates the opportunity for helping address the core issues that impact their lives.**Basic Services: Hours: M-F, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 pm sign up at 8:30 & 1:30 Free showers, laundry, telephone, mail, Nurse (Monday, Thursday) and Dental Van (2nd Friday). These services for homeless only, Transportation (to DSS, DMV, SS, clinics), Counseling (ID or prescription assistance, food and other referrals), Support groups (grief, womens)***Permanent Supportive Housing: We specifically target those individuals who have been homeless the longest, are the most vulnerable and are the most frequent users of emergency rooms, jails, shelters and other costly crisis services. Our experience demonstrates and research shows that supportive housing for this population saves lives and saves our community money.***SABER Treatment Program: The Urban Ministry Center offers homeless, substance-abusing men something that life never gave them before.
