The Path is a both a shelter and a rehabilitative residence for men in homeless situations. Our mission is to provide a Christian living environment that allows true transformation. The Path encourages a strong work ethic for those without a home in Citrus County, and gives men a purpose as they find them involved in meaningful projects, living productive lives. Building a strong work ethic is a key objective for our work program. The Path is wellequipped to teach self-sustaining trades or connect clients with academic programs for health professions & other vocations. A leased property is ideal for housing rescue mission graduates or interns & includes a green house, wood shop, plus other buildings suitable for wood-working, repairing appliances or supporting a wide variety of farming activities.

Housing Services is dedicated to increasing the quantity and quality of decent, safe, and affordable housing for Citrus County's moderate, low, and very low income families. This division administers state and federally funded housing programs for home repairs and improvements, provides subsidies to first time home buyers for downpayments and closing costs, provides rental assistance, coordinates grant awards to affordable housing developers for new construction of homes for very low income and special needs families, as well as for affordable rental developments, and provides grant subsidies for utility connections and emergency energy assistance.

We Care Food Pantry

The We Care Food Pantry is an unfunded, all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) corporation. We have over 160 volunteers who donate approximately 3,600 volunteer hours every month. Every month we provide food boxes to approximately 2,600 people, including working poor families with children, seniors, veterans, and the homeless. Our program is income based and our clients must qualify according to USDA guidelines.

The Salvation Army of Citrus County operates a full facility, with many programs, including the following: Social Services, Correctional Services (supervising Misdemeanor Probation cases), Angel Tree Program, Christmas Food Giveaway, Cold Night Shelter (open when temperatures fall below 40 degrees) and year-round outreach activities that include feeding the hungry with their mobile canteen. The Salvation Army offers a full worship program including Sunday School & Worship Services, Youth Activities, and a number of discipleship opportunities. They are also a partner in the Thanksgiving Feeding Alliance, help to facilitate other community outreach programs, and work with a number of organizations in the area to minister to hurting families in Citrus County.

The Sanctuary Mission is a homeless and recovery mission which seeks to help those in need, and help them recover a sense of normalcy, restore dignity, realign them to Christ, and reintegrate them into the church. The Sanctuary provides not only shelter, but helps those in their program find sustainment through hands-on training in a number of job areas, and also educational services with GED assistance, life skills training and more. The Sanctuary assists those in recovery with 12-step programs, discipleship, and case management to ensure they have the support and tools that are needed to have a successful future.
