The Buckley Senior Center is open to all men and women 55 and older in the greater Buckley area. The Center had its beginnings with an informal group of senior citizens who met regularly for companionship and recreation in one of several places in downtown Buckley during the late 1960s and early 1970s. It was through the acquisition of state funding and federal Housing and Urban Development monies administered by the Pierce County community development block grant program, the Buckley Multi-Purpose Center was built in 1979.
