Queens Community House's five seniors' centers provide a culturally rich environment in which seniors can engage with their peers, make new friends, enjoy a hot meal, stay physically active, learn new skills and explore new interests, and give back to society through volunteer opportunities. Each center offers a wide variety of physical activities for seniors who want to stay healthy, including yoga, Zumba, ballroom dancing, stretching, tai chi, chair aerobics, and table tennis. They also support the management of chronic diseases through free screenings, health education seminars, and nutritious meals. The centers allow senior citizens to share existing skills and talents and develop new ones through a variety of art, language, and special interest classes. Case assistance is available in all their centers to offer information and referrals, help with housing, and help in the enrollment of benefits.
