Work First Family Assistance, also known as TANF, provides support to help families overcome obstacles and become independent once again. Emergency Assistance Cash and Services, up to $300 once every two years to help families in an emergency pay bills such as rent and utilities. Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) Child protective services, counseling, treatment, family preservation, and other services. Qualifying families may receive:  Employment training  Monetary Work First benefits  Medicaid  child care services  food/nutrition services Eligibility: Have reserves at or below $2,200 Meet an income test Have at least one U.S. citizen or non-citizen who meets the eligibility criteria Must resides in Alamance County, regardless of race, color, or national origin The family must meet income eligibility requirements in order to be approved for services.
