"You are only a stranger once" is a phrase Ive heard over and over again when folks describe their experience with our senior center, The Gathering Place. Walking in our door, you are greeted with a smile, a welcome, a "How are you?" If you prefer to eat alone, well let you! But if youd like some company we can promise youll find some. We are open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We have a variety of exercise classes, daily activities such as cards, Bingo & Bunco and live music and dancing EVERY Tuesday. All ages are welcome here - we truly appreciate it when grandchildren visit! We serve lunch 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. Youll find our meals are unique to your typical congregate meal site. Meals are prepared on site; our mashed potatoes are REAL, our roasts cook overnight in our ovens. Along with a daily entre, our lunch also includes two soups, a variety of steamed vegetables, a large salad bar & jello bar. All for the suggested donation of $4 if you are age 60 or older. If you are under 60 its only $7.50. We are located in the Honor Plaza in downtown Honor next door to the Secretary of State office. Hope to see you soon!..
