In 1993, the Council on Aging moved from Bradford Street to 330 North Street upon completion of the reconstruction and renovation of the former Capitol Theater. The City of Pittsfield renamed and dedicated the building "The Ralph J. Froio Senior Center " in honor of this long time civic leader who spent countless hours in volunteer service to his community, especially in senior citizens affairs. Through his many years of service, Ralph J. Froio served as Chairman of the Council on Aging as well as for countless other charitable organizations and causes. The Ralph J. Froio Senior Center is a handicapped accessible facility in that is within walking distance of several housing projects and is available by bus. The facility is 15,000 square feet in total area and consists of four floors. In the basement, there is a woodworking shop, ceramics shop and a board room. Just beyond the lobby on the first floor, you will find a coffee shop and lounge area, a computer lab and our administrative offices. The Supportive Day Program and the main meeting room are located on the second floor along with the kitchen.
