The Committee on Ageing is a municipally appointed volunteer committee authorized under Massachusetts common law. The primary responsibilities of this Department include establishing local policy for the administration of programs and services for the elderly; identifying the total needs of the community's elderly population; developing, promoting, and implementing services to meet these needs; serving as an advocate for the elderly; and educating the community at large about these needs and available resources. Their ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life of Hadley's residents aged 60 and over and enable them to remain active and independent within their own communities.
