The Central DeKalb Senior Center (CDSC) is for DeKalb County Residents, age 62 and older, who are active and independent. The role of the CDSC is to provide programs, services, and activities that promote health, wellness, social interaction, community engagement, education, and independence. Participants and the CDSC staff will work together to create a true sense of community. At the CDSC, we strive to provide a welcoming environment that promotes acceptance, appreciation, and inclusion of all people which is reflective of DeKalbs diverse population. Our commitment to embracing diversity will help to enrich the experience of all those participating. The mission of DeKalb Countys Office of Senior Affairs, to include the CDSC, is to enhance the well-being of the senior population by optimizing services on behalf of mature adults and their families. Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is available to all income eligible households in DeKalb, Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton, and Walton Counties. This program offers a payment of $350 or $400 once per program year to be applied to your home energy bill. Follow us on Facebook to get updates about this program and other services. Due to the rising threat of COVID-19, Partnership for Community Action is taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers. Effective March 23, 2020, offices located in Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton, and Walton will be closed. Our DeKalb County location will be open for document drop-off only. In an effort to uphold our mission, PCA will continue to serve our communities with modified operations. All Family Support and LIHEAP applications will be done through phone conference.
