The Department of Senior Services provides community-based programs for seniors to enhance the quality of life, independence, and well-being of South El Monte citizens 55 years of age and older. These services include but are not limited to, catering programs, transportation, education classes, medical examinations, recreation programs, special events, excursions, and volunteer opportunities. The Senior Services Division is housed at the South El Monte Senior Center, which is a multipurpose center and a central access point for information and services to assist older adults (55 years) in the community. The Senior Center is open to anyone 55 years and older; however, certain activities and services have age restrictions. In addition to the services and programs offered at the Senior Center, seniors will benefit from the amenities it offers, such as a fitness room, a library room, a billiard room, various recreation rooms, and a large dining room. ..
